Looking back on a grand and glorious year

Hard to believe, but it was one year ago today that I launched this little enterprize with nothing but good ol' American pioneer spirit. So now, sparing no expense, I hired the ghost of John Wayne to deliver a short inspirational speech. Listen carefully, though -- I think he's been drinking...

The Duke, telling The Media what's what, as The Media hangs its head in shame.

Thanks, Duke! Hope we can have you back next year! That'd be re-goddam-diculous!

The photo being from one of the most unintentionally funny movies of all time...The Green Berets.
Strange recording, but I always have a hard time listening to men lecture on being "real men" while they are wearing a hairpiece.

GREEN BERETS is a hilarious movie, with one of the great final shots of all time: John Wayne and a kid walk along the beach as the sun sets...in the east!

Wow, has it really been a year since that drunken conversation in a Guatemalan bar, where amid the chaos, blood and tequila, you and I single-handedly defeated a crew of black-ops mercenaries armed with only a toothbrush and a year-old copy of "Popular Mechanics"? And at the end, as we lay surrounded by bloody, dismembered foolish men's bodies, you said, "I think I shall write about this in a web log!" Ah, memories...

Belated congrats on your first big year - been years since I've watched The Green Berets, but the images that've always stuck with me revolve around them punji sticks. . .

I'll raise Mike's "Congrats on the one year mark, Will!" and wish your ass the same AND a "Happy Kwanzaa" three months in advance.
