There's also plenty of talk between her and that guy who dresses up like a bat, a chase through Gotham and at least a couple of cameos -- namely the people who've been bringing you this comic book for the last few years. Oh, and the word "regurgitant" makes an appearance, too.
Here's Adam's cover, which captures the bittersweet mood of everything coming to an end. I know just how Selina feels...

We never sold big numbers (which is why there's not going to be an issue 83), but we had fun, and what made it even more fun was knowing some of you out there in comicsland were enjoying what we were doing. If you do read this issue, whether you like it or not, take a second to swing by the comments section and put in your two cents. I'd love to hear from you.
I don't have anything else lined up right now, but I'm guessing it's just a matter of time. And when I hear about my next project, I'll make sure you hear about it, too. In the meantime, keep visiting the blog. Unlike Selina on that cover, it's not going anywhere.

Sorry to see it end, but thanks for a great ride.
Latecomer to the series, but going to miss it immensely.
Will, I just want to say that this series has been consistently my favorite DC book since the One Year Later jump. You've managed to create one of the few superhero books where I genuinely care about the main character, and you effectively built anticipation for the series from issue to issue with some incredible cliffhangers. I'm looking forward to your next project.
I will buy your next comic book work, sight unseen.
Catwoman has been fun.
This has honestly been one of those consistent treasures that I've looked forward to every month. It'll be with great sadness to see this book discontinued as a series. Your run was such a splendid ride. Thanks for all you did for the character.
Thanks Will. Just finished #82 and I loved it. I won't spoil it for those that will read it tonight, but it was a great ending to the run.
I now read zero DC books, thanks DC.
I go to the comic shop each week and see what I consider trash bought / sold and it angers me to no end that your book is going away while Amazing Spider Man is putting out three issues a month.
Thanks Will for the ride.
Alton
You did something I thought was impossible...you made me like Catwoman.
Thank you, Will, for three years of great comics and I look forward to your next project.
Hi Will,
I've only started reading catwoman in the past two months or so. Quite sad that this is ending, but i do plan to get some back issues.
I did enjoy the last two very much. #81 - i loved for the heist, #82 - what can i say, great wrap up. i loved that you ended it so playfully. So, Selina has an i-phone (very subtle product placement there)...
The grand theft auto was awesome, but the batteries really pushed me over the edge! :D
Anyway, thank you for the great read. Good luck to you and the team in your next books.

I have the issue at home with me, but I can't bring myself to read it. If I don't read it, it will never be over!
Seriously, though, thanks so much for writing such an awesome comic. I love everything that you did with this series. I'm sorry it had to end. I look forward to your next series.
I liked it. There was no damage done to the Selina/Bruce relationship, nor did Selina turn back into a villain.
I've loved David Lopez's art on this book, and Will, your writing has been great too, although I could've done without Selina screwing Sam Bradley. Selina's child should've been Batman's. It's not right that he can have a son with Talia but not a daughter with Selina.
I've been collecting Catwoman since the first volume began in 1993, so this is a bittersweet ending for me. She's the reason I've been collecting comics for 15 years.
Fortunately, I look forward to reading her continuing adventures in Detective Comics.
I hope you get a new project lined up soon, I've loved reading your run on Catwoman. The final issue was a perfect finale for the series. Thanks for the fun.
Dear Will,
I really love your Catwoman run and hope you can write Selina again soon. It was always sexy and fun and one of the best comics from DC.
Best wishes from Germany,
Volker
For your next project, stay away from Wonder Woman, Cheetah, Circe, the Amazons, Hippolyta, Artemis, Philippus, etc, you don't know them that much.
Thank you so much for writing a comic that at any given moment could go from Lex Luthor to Batman to pathos to Film Freak to a giant gorilla ravaging Gotham.
This book was better than the current comics market deserved.
Hi Will,
I just wanted to drop a line to say thanks.
I started reading Catwoman a little over a year ago (just before the "catwoman dies" arc I think) after hearing how good it was. I had only recently gotten back into reading comics and of all the comics I grabbed in those first few months it's the only series I've continued to pick up without fail.
You did a really good job of delivering a damn good comic each month. It made Catwoman (a character I had no interest in previously) my favourite DC comics character. So thank you for bringing a little extra fun into my life each month.
Regards,
Stu in Ireland.
Thanks, everyone, for your kind words here. It's no fun when your book gets the axe -- especially a book you really enjoyed writing, like I did with CATWOMAN -- but it means a lot that those stories connected with readers. You try to write something interesting and well-crafted that you think will appeal to others, but in the end, I think, you mostly write trying to please yourself and tell stories that you'll find interesting, surprising and evocative. When those stories have a similar effect on other people -- people you've never met -- it's a damned good feeling. So thanks again, and as soon as I learn what's next on my agenda, I'll let you know.
Sorry that it is the end but I'm sure going to read your next project it has been fun
I'm so sad to see Catwoman end, but I loved the last issue. Your Catwoman got me back into comics 6 years after I swore I'd never buy them again.
When I first heard rumors of Catwoman's second ending I was quite sad. Yet again Catwoman was being put to an end.
And just as the Cat lady was getting back to her roots - back to who she is - her story ends. Well sorta. Of course she'll turn up elsewhere but it's not quite as good as her own series.
I've extremely enjoyed the voice you've given her. The snarky thief having -fun- doing what she does best. It 'sounded' exactly right.
While I wasn't entirely happy with some of the turns in the story of Catwoman - I enjoyed all of them. A good story doesn't always go the way we as readers want them to. It's keeping the character true to themselves that does, that a character reacts and acts the way you expect (or don't but is still 'in character').
In all your work on Catwoman is much appreciated by this reader!
And...Heh Grand theft auto indeed! Nice!
Sorry to see the run end. Loved your writing. Enjoyed every issue of it. - Michael
Will, if sales for this final issue are good you should petition DC to relaunch the series next year with you as writer of course! And hopefully with the Lopez's art as well! :) Great job and thanks for making this series fun 'till the end! Hopefully Catwoman will get her own series again soon...
Loved your run.
But if someone cares for what happens with Selina (as a character), he'd better not read the latest Detective Comics. Sigh.
I was really upset when I heard Catwoman was ending. This was one of the books that really got me excited about DC doing stories that were more than just people beating each other up. I bitched and complained when I found out and I'm still complaining and, in the process, managed to get three people to buy the final issue, though I wish I could have been doing that over the past two years that I've been reading it. I randomly picked up an issue because of Adam Hughes' cover and then later on found out that the writer lived in the same damned city as me, which was kind of exciting too. I'll keep complaining that this ended and I'll be excited to see what you do next.
I didn't realise this was the final issue of the series until I reached the final page. I was gutted.
There are only two DC comics that I pick up (picked up?): Action Comics, since Gary Frank started art chores (I've followed his work everywhere), and Catwoman. My very first issue, was coincidentally the very first issue you wrote. I was blown away. As a non-DC fan (but an avid Marvel collector), I knew I'd found gold dust. The story was clever and the art was great, and I couldn't wait for the next issue. I bought the trades of Brubakers work (which i also thoroughly enjoyed), but it was your work that really got me hooked.
I fell in love with Catwoman many years ago, when I saw Batman Returns. The ambiguity of the character was the real hook for me (well and the fact that Michelle Pfeiffer who played the part to perfection was absolutely stunning). However, despite a few dabblings with Batman and Catwoman, I was never drawn into collect the comics (mosly because Catwoman just didn't seem to be anything more than a pin-up - for me, she lacked the depth of character and ambiguity that you and Brubaker brought to the character.
I am very saddened by the news that you are no longer associated with Catwoman. Fingers crossed, you'll be able to do a Catwoman mini-series now and then.
Best wishes in your future projects,
Bryn
I really loved this series, Mr P, You're work was perfect for the series. It was consistently great stuff, and the art always complemented the stories you were telling
It's a hard job creating a believable three-dimensional character out of a powerless superhero especially while trying to meet the high expectations of those beautiful covers. You and the Lopezs did it and it was the most human DC superhero series I've read since Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man (how cool is it telling non comic readers that Catwoman is now a single mum) - it brought me back to comics. Now it's over, I'll be buying comics less.
