It was three years ago today...

... that Amy and I were sitting in an office building somewhere in southeast China when a woman came in and handed us our daughter. She was not quite nine months old, and, as you can see, she was a bit unsure about these brand-new people she was meeting...

But that was then, and this is now. Here's a photo of her from this morning at breakfast. She's grown up a bit -- and seems much happier!

Happy anniversary, Allie! I can't believe it's been three years already, but I also can't believe we once had a life without you.
