Actually, that's the cover of the book, beautifully drawn by German Torres and horribly disfigured by yours truly and five minutes of bad Photoshop. I wanted to see if I could duplicate the cheap, pandering effect of those movie ads that desperately try to drum up a few more ticket sales by slapping a Santa hat on everyone in the poster, and I'm -- happy? sad? ashamed? -- to say that I think I succeeded. Please don't judge the graphic novel by this cheesy image.
By the way, if you're still doing a bit of last-minute shopping, might I suggest giving the gift that won't arrive until 2012 -- namely, a copy of "The Advance Team"? In fact, if you send me proof that you pre-ordered a copy, I'll send a genuine signed piece of paper that you can use as a bookplate -- or a bookmark, for that matter. Won't that make the holiday even more magical?
