Great Moments in Comics History, Part 38

The Starchild -- aka Paul Stanley of Kiss -- defeats Dr. Doom.

Marvel Comics Super Special: Kiss; script by Steve Gerber, pencils by Alan Weiss, inks by Sal Buscema, colors by Al Milgrom, letters by John Costanza

Read a fascinating except of it here, including an explanation of how the issue was printed with blood drawn right from the arms of the members of Kiss. (And according to Snopes.com, that's true!)

Was this a doom bot or the real deal? Either way John Byrne was prolly pissed.

Ha! As far as I know, it was the genuine article. And plus, this was years before Byrne's era on FF.

Being in my mid 30s this book was before my time and, while I knew it existed, I had no idea Doom was involved. That being said after reading the two panels you posted I decided I had to own this book!!! ....that was until the cheapest copy I could find was around a $100. Very depressing...now I am going to re-read my Byrne FF run to see if he ret cons or throws a hidden swipe at Gene and company.
